Just Beyond Beginner Bridge  This is Jeff’s original course, consisting of 7 series. It takes place on various days of the week online, in person and live streamed.

Each 8 week series of Just Beyond Beginner Bridge is independent of the prior ones. For the advanced beginner player, you enter at any time.  He will focus on various bidding techniques beyond what students learn in basic courses. In Just Beyond Beginner Bridge, there are modules that elevate your skills beyond typical beginner classes and prepare you for duplicate and other competitive bridge games.  In these courses, Jeff teaches 2 over 1 bidding system and forcing NT along with slam bidding utilizing 1430 Blackwood.  Another series deals with alternative bids to 2 over 1 that are also game forcing.  Then onto the 3rd and 4th series, which are all about improving your declarer play by showing you play of the hand techniques you may never have seen. In the 5th series, we return to bidding to learn ways to improve communication with your partner to help arrive at the ideal contract. Defense is the focus of the 6th and 7thseries, with “beyond-beginner” techniques to help set the other team’s contracts. Visit the  “Bridge Courses” page at badlerbridge.com to view detailed descriptions and links to register. It is not necessary to take them in order.  The only exception is that Series 1 is a prerequisite for Series 2.

Special Topics for Advanced Beginners

These are advanced beginner subjects that Jeff has determined where many of his students need assistance.

One is a defense series focused on opening leads, when to lead a trump, when to sacrifice or double your opponents for penalty.

Another series handles Reverse Drury, Meckwell, Inverted Minors, and a “bidathon” of various game forcing bids, and declarer play techniques to help you make difficult contracts such as end plays and loser on loser plays.
